Our Story
Gardens and Plants is a family-owned business in Bedfordshire, founded by myself, Jan Browning and my husband, Howard. During our professional careers, we’ve travelled and worked in Australia, New Zealand and various countries in Europe, Asia and North America, which inspired the ideas and designs we incorporate in garden projects today.
I have over twenty five years experience in different areas of horticulture, several RHS medals for show displays, including a silver-gilt at The Chelsea Flower Show.
My plant knowledge, garden design skills and home interior design knowledge compliment Howard’s practical mind, structural eye for design, drawing, planning and project management skills. I think we make an excellent team!
Our Approach
It has become clear to many that combining living spaces by bringing elements of the garden into the home and the home into the garden make the whole space of the property feel larger and it can add an overall calming effect. Where it is practically possible, we like to make the garden an extension to the home, an outside room so to speak — It is much easier to achieve than you may think.
Using the skills, experience and knowledge of our team, we can help make the most of your outdoor space. No matter how big or small, or where we are starting from, there is always progress to be made.
